Mayor Eberhard van der Laan comes two months with new plans to combat radicalization and extremism in the city, based on the ideas of the British psychoanalyst David Kenning.

Van der Laan legde alle kritiek van Elforkani op het functioneren van de overheid naast zich neer.

According to the adviser to the municipality resulting violent jihadism not from the ideology of radical Islam, but from the psychological state of the doubting adolescents.

Van der Laan said in a debate with the Council on the issues of youth imam Yassin Elforkani last Saturday in Het Parool that Amsterdam within a maximum of one and a half year waiting an attack if not harder deployed to tackle radicalising young people.

According Elforkani know many people in the districts of terrorist networks, but they choose to keep their mouths shut and protect these young people. Confidence in the actions of security forces would be minimal.

"Rearing '
In the debate, Van der Laan did gave council members that they were not to let Elforkani 'rearing'. The young imam would have said nothing that was not already known. That would be proved also from a conversation he had after publication with the police in Amsterdam. "We do not need to be warned by him," said a clearly exasperated mayor.

Van der Laan explained all the criticism of Elforkani on the functioning of the government aside. There are about fifty radicalising young people in the picture, he said, and would be closely monitored.

Series of measures
As responsible for the security van der Laan listed a long series of actions that the city has already begun: from hotlines to the appointment of one hundred and fifty 'key figures' dialogue conversations around to assertiveness training.

He could not say too much about, 'said Van der Laan. "But if the attack comes we have ready our defense. We have made great strides and then it is not about people who are going to talk, but to people who just shoot."

Van der Laan announced to feel uncomfortable at the Elforkani contribution to the debate. Precisely terrorists in his benefit scaremongering. "He has the right to say whatever he wants, but many have not contributed. I do not exclude that there will be an attack here, but there is no particular reason to worry. It is our common responsibility to sober remain. "
