Amsterdam landed at a "critical zone" by closing brothels less than previously planned, while cutting back on the number of supervisors.
This says criminologist Cyrille Fijnaut Friday in an interview with Het Parool.
In the nineties he was a founder of the coordinated crime-fighting around the Red Light District, where he was closely involved until 2012.
Around the red light district in recent years 126 of the 470 windows closed, in an attempt to restore balance in the Old Town and get more grip on criminal influences.
