First 15 years in jail, now acquittal for murder Rotterdam

A man who was previously convicted to fifteen years in prison for a murder in Rotterdam was acquitted on appeal.

The court does not consider it proven that Meraldo P. anything to do with the death of Anthony Fernandes.

The 22-year-old Fernandes came in May 2012 killed in a shooting. According to the court it was an act of revenge in the criminal environment. Fernandes was two months earlier committed a rip deal at P.

P. was sentenced in 2014, partly on the basis of an overheard conversation in his car. But the court now says that that conversation was possible over another shooting. Furthermore, it is not in accordance with the court that P.'s car was at the scene of the murder.

P. is not quite plainly, for drug trafficking, the court imposed on him sixteen months in prison. But because he has already served the punishment, he is at liberty.
