To monitor the radicalized Muslims Probation Netherlands has a special team. "Or do you get the ideas out, is always the question, as with other crimes, '' said CEO Sjef van Gennip at 1Limburg.

"Doing nothing is not an option," says Van Gennip. "Even with these people, we started talking and to show that there is a different perspective than you blow up with a bomb belt and put others suffering. ''

'No trust'
Radicalized Muslim youth are often isolated and have lost confidence in the authorities. De-radicalization is only possible if the youth again perspective is offered, says Van Gennip.

For certain offenses just punishment in place, says Van Gennip. But with only prosecution will not do. It is to him that radicalized often live in a pretty desperate situation, although they are quite educated. "But that also applies to other clients of us. ''
