ProRail is under attack and that pleases the people totally. In a letter to Secretary Dijksma asks Vice President Frank Barel or the Secretary of State now wants to keep her comments to herself.

"The attention for ProRail is little nuanced," Barel wrote. "Prorailers feel touched by it. We continue despite public criticism do our utmost to give the rail rein and careful with taxpayers' money to go. We are working on many fronts to make improvements and at the same time we recognize that we are not there yet. The State Secretary in recent months had ample opportunity to do this surgery. We note that it has not done so. "

MANY PROBLEMS
Barel reacts to the news earlier this week that the government takes over the lead in the hotly criticized rail manager. The company is responsible for the management and maintenance of the track in the Netherlands. Because of problems with rails, switches and overhead lines trains are often delayed or fall out. State Secretary Dijksma has its belly full of it and wants to have more control over ProRail.

If nothing changes, ProRail has a deficit of 475 million euros for the maintenance and management of the railway in the period 2018-2028. While for the period until 2018 just about money is because a number of projects and maintenance deferred to the track. ProRail will receive from the government a billion euros every year. Since 2005, ProRail is an independent company with the Dutch State as its sole shareholder. State Secretary Dijksma ProRail will make a public executive.

COMPLIMENT
Barel did not see the news. "Our astonishment is true for the fact that you would consider another position while appointed very recently reached agreement on a new senior management structure and a new Board of Directors."

ProRail also find the CEO strange that Dijksma after earlier positive statements now come with criticism. "How are we to reconcile another position with the compliment that you gave ProRail for the speedy recovery of the damage after the accident in Dalfsen?" Barel asked.

Finally ProRailers ask for "peace and quiet in order to walk the path to improvement".
