Tenant in downtown Amsterdam twice as expensive in

Tenants of private homes in the center of Amsterdam, pay a high price for the location. Compared them with tenants in the rest of the Netherlands on average twice as expensive.

This report rental site Pararius Thursday. The rent increased compared with last year in the heart light, tenths of a percent, to 25.26 euros per month per square meter.

On average, the price of a deregulated sector rental apartment in Amsterdam in the first quarter, 11.5 percent higher than at the beginning of last year. Prices in the capital increased twice as fast than the average in the rest of the Netherlands.

districts
In the districts West, South and Centre are the rent above 20 euros per square meter per month. In other districts the rents under 18 euros per square meter per month.

The rent of an apartment in Southeast last year was around a tenner per square meter per month - below the national average. The first quarter of this year the rental market pulled in Southeast according Pararius and rents rose to an average of 13.44 euros per square meter per month.

improved market
Rents of private homes in the Netherlands in the first quarter were 6.2 percent higher than the same period last year. The average rent rose from 12.61 euros per square meter per month in 2015 to 12.38 euros this year.

Increased rent hold according Pararius associated with improved housing market. Owners decide therefore rather sell their home than to rent. The offer is shrinking as a result.

As a second reason Pararius cites a ruling by the Supreme Court late last year, forcing brokers for housing from their own file handling fees to be charged by the landlord. These costs are included landlords in rent.
