Prime Minister Davutoglu is considering according to two major Turkish newspapers to resign because of a power struggle with President Erdogan.

After meeting with party members Davutoglu said his decision will not fixed yet.

The disagreement with the president is a constitutional amendment, which Turkey turns into a presidential system on the French model. The power then shifts to the main part of the prime minister to the president.

No personal interest

According to the Turkish state news agency Anadolu said Davutoglu yesterday in a speech at a party congress in Ankara that he has always held above his personal interest to the party interest.

Davutoglu took the premiership and the presidency of the AK Party over when Erdogan was elected president in the summer of 2014.

The newspaper Cumhuriyet calls for two candidates who could succeed as prime minister Davutoglu, Minister of Transport Yilderim and Energy Minister Albayrak, the son of Erdogan.
