The Canadian department store chain Hudson's Bay set foot on Dutch soil. The next two years will introduce the company's two retail formats and open about 20 stores throughout the Netherlands.
It is about the formulas Hudson's Bay and Saks OFF 5TH. The first is more luxurious "between the Bijenkorf and V & D," said a spokesman, the second is a luxury discount formula.
The first branches open their doors next summer to "a number of very popular shopping locations," said Hudson's Bay. According to a spokesperson goes in any case to the property at the Amsterdam Rokin where the luxury department store Haussmann wanted to settle. A number of former V & D buildings is concerned.
2500 plus 2500
The new stores will generate an estimated 2500 jobs and renovations deliver another 2,500 jobs. In total, invested 300 million euros, most of which is accounted for by the landlords.

Around the bankruptcy of V & D Hudson's Bay was one of the candidates for the V & D department stores.
