Women arrested in Iran kerchief free Instagram photos

In Iran, at least eight people detained in connection with the posting photos on social media of women without headscarves.

Unnamed-508.pngAmong them are young women. Also, photographers and makeup artists have been arrested, Iranian state television reported.

The police operation called Spider II focused primarily on Instagram. The platform is Iran very popular among young people. Therefore, the Iranian police delves increasingly on social media for photos that are unethical according to the authorities. Meanwhile, hundreds of Instagram accounts have been taken offline by the judiciary.

Model

One of the arrested women posted on Instagram wedding photos. On Iranian television said the model that women like to show their beauty. "But they have to understand at what price they are doing this."

Last month, the Iranian government announced that it deployed 7,000 undercover moral agents. They hunt on people who do not adhere to the dress code.

In Iran, a headscarf mandatory for women. Fashion magazines are banned and fashion shows are often held in secret. Platforms like Instagram are therefore a popular way to showcase the latest trends, to the dissatisfaction of the strict fashion police.
