Nearly a quarter of a million children in the Nigerian state of Borno are severely malnourished. The UN children's organisation Unicef warns that tens of thousands of children will die if no help comes.

The Borno State in Northeast Nigeria. The terrorist group Boko Haram is there to power. UNICEF wants everyone contributes to a humanitarian action for food to the region. According to Manuel Fontaine, Regional Director of Unicef, some 134 children die daily as there not intervened.

Fontaine has just returned from the area and saw completely devastated villages. Homeless families have to survive without food, water or sanitary facilities. Thousands of children are thereby become so malnourished that they can die any time.
