Turkish academics get imposed travel ban

The Turkish High Council of education has banned all academics until further notice to leave the country. That the State channel TRT has announced Wednesday.

The travel ban comes after the failed military coup of last Friday. That has led to a large-scale purge within all government institutions.

Academics who is currently abroad, are advised to "return back to Turkey as soon as possible". The Council calls on universities to their workforce to check on possible connections with the spiritual Fethullah Gülen.

Mr Erdogan's Government keeps the living in America Gülen responsible for the coup and takes already his alleged followers.

The travel ban follows a day after the same Committee 1,577 Deans of all universities in Turkey had possible dismissal. The Ministry of education also pulled the license of 21,000 teachers of private schools.
