Abducted Natascha Kampusch has struggled with new life

As a ten year old she was kidnapped in 1998 by her tormentor Wolfgang Priklopil when she was on her way to school. He held her for eight years trapped in a small space. In the dungeon-like space in Strasshof near Vienna she received little food and there was little oxygen. All these years she had to include cleaning and cooking for him and was mistreated and abused. Priklopil was her slowly forced his idea of a perfect life partner. He also filmed her.

On August 23, 2006 Natascha escaped. She ran out of the house and reported to the police. Priklopil jump on a train and died. Kampusch has said she wanted him alive. ,, It might have been better if Priklopil had survived. It would have been clear that I'm the victim. Kampusch never considered to go away because of outside criticism from Vienna. Before that she loves to much of the city, she writes. She has never felt the need to change his identity by persistent rumors about her captivity.
