The searches are part of a large-scale investigation launched after the failed coup on July 15. The staff at the courthouses may end up behind bars.

Binali Yildirim, the Prime Minister of Turkey, said Saturday that there are suspended so far 76,500 employees of the government because of alleged links with the movement of Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Turkey Gülen suspects that he was behind the failed coup. The country is negotiating with the US on extradition of the cleric, who lives in Pennsylvania since the 90s. The discussions so far have yielded nothing .
