Turkey asks Germany for explanations after leaked document

A leaked document seems to provoke a diplomatic row between Germany and Turkey. Turkey has asked Germany for explanations about the document from the German Government in which the current Turkish Government described as mainstay for militant Islamic groups. According to the document, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas count on support from Ankara.

"These allegations are a new manifestation of the warped mentality, which for a while now trying to undermine our country by our president and Government to attack ', responded the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement. The Ministry stressed that Turkey "sincerely fights all forms of terrorism."

The comments, dated 10 August, are submitted by the German Ministry of the Interior and were not intended for public access. It is a confidential answers to questions by opposition party Die Linke.

The German broadcaster ARD released the document Tuesday. It talks about ' numerous statements of solidarity and supporting actions ' for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist opposition groups in Syria by the ruling party and president Erdogan.

The German Ministry said Tuesday in a statement that the document is confidential and therefore, there is no public comment is provided on the content. However, the Ministry admitted that mistakes have been made with the sending of the confidential document. In an attempt to appease the rel a spokesman stressed the importance of Turkey in the fight against terrorism. "We strongly believe that Turkey is the most important partner in the fight against Islamic State. '
