Many Dutch children to daycare, but not for long

Of Dutch children up to three years will receive 77 per cent relief. Therewith Netherlands leads in the EU, reports CBS. Children go here or shorter to the shelter.

Many Dutch parents use different forms of care. Parents bring their children for example, two days a week to a day nursery and grandparents also fit another day. 45 percent of Dutch children up to three years goes to a nursery or playgroup; 64 percent goes to family, carers or other care home.

Scandinavian children are most often from a nursery or playgroup. In Denmark it is even 70 percent.

The differences within the EU are considerable. In Bulgaria, only 27 percent of children at the shelter. The EU average is 50 percent.

The vast majority of Dutch children are less than 30 hours per week at the shelter. In the Scandinavian countries, but also in France, Spain, Belgium and Germany send more parents their infants more than 30 hours per week at the shelter. Netherlands that children are cared for relatively few hours, is because Dutch parents often work part time.
