Westfries Museum has five stolen paintings back

The Westfries Museum in Hoorn has five stolen painting back. The works were with 19 other cloths and 70 pieces of silverware from the Westfries Museum robbed in early 2005.

Four works were traced by the Ukrainian authorities and a fifth was in May of this year by an unknown buyer reduced at the Dutch Embassy in Kiev. Director Ad G of the museum took over the works of art person at the Dutch Embassy in Kiev.

Damaged

In what state the paintings are, is unclear. But that there is damage, you can clearly see on photos of the cloths.

Back soon

Minister Bert Koenders said to be happy that the works of art are transferred: "I hope the 19 paintings that still look like to see as soon as possible in the Westfries Museum."

Also the silverware is not yet detected.
