For the railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB) is enough. In the first half of this year, the track staff more than 1100 times victim of aggression. That's over a quarter more than in the same period last year.

The German conductors have among other things to do with spitting, hitting and sometimes life-threatening attacks. "We freaked out by people no longer sit on the head '', said the Security Chief of the rail company.

Pepper spray and bodycams

DB also consults with police and trade unions to additional communication equipment. Conductors can then faster to the draw call if something goes wrong. Bodycams and security staff with better training, guard dogs are on the agenda.

Also in Netherlands are calls for better armament of rail staff. Trade union FNV Track previously pleaded for order NS-conductors to give pepper spray, after conductors were mistreated. Minister Ard van der Steur (security and justice) sees that not be.
