Blind after the bad result against France (2-3), one of three Orange coaches who lost four of his first six games. Jaap van der Leck (1949-50) and Guus Hiddink went for him with the same sad start. Blind is the first coach since Elek Schwartz in 1961 that has lost its first three home games.

For the Dutch team were more mournful numbers. The poor turn against France was in fact the fourth loss in a row at home. Such series was not seen since 1953.

Twenty years before the Dutch team had an even more dramatic series in a single stadium. The Olympic Stadium was lost six in a row, where the numerator in the Arena now stands at four losing sessions.

The goal by Antoine Griezmann was the thousandth which Orange gave up in the match history. In 1905, an own goal by Ben Stupid was in the game against Belgium the first goal against the Netherlands.
