In the week before Sinterklaas and his helpers set foot in Meppel, the eyes are on the fifteenth edition of the Journal Sinterklaas. The children of the NTR do from Monday 27 episodes daily report of the arrival of the child's friend and his stay in the Netherlands.

The presentation from the studio is once again entrusted to Dieuwertje Blok. Dolores Leeuwin and Jeroen Kramer to report from various locations in the country.

Sinterklaas News plays a major role in the discussion about the appearance of Black Peter. V & D department store fits for example, advertisements and shop decoration to the line prescribed by the children. But like previous years, the public broadcaster will not anticipate the story and adapted to the hot potato to what extent broadcasting to accommodate opponents of Zwarte Piet.

Better viewed
Since 2012, the Saint Nicholas Journal is viewed better every year. Last year looked more people than ever; according to the NTR average one million people aged three years and older. Most of the episodes snuggled in the middle of the daily ranking of the 25 most watched programs.

Many viewers are this year again wondering how Sinterklaas Journal the children's color throughout. "Some people find Piet namely but old-fashioned ', referring Dieuwertje Block last year to the discussion. In the episodes that followed introduced the NTR and white clown helpers helpers in addition to traditional dark brown helpers. In the final episode was Grandpa Pete completely equivalent to Saint when he wore a miter and a robe and sat on a white horse. "The majority of editors thought it was time for change," Block said.
