DORDRECHT / GORINCHEM - A carer is through Rivas Care Group rightly sacked for theft under more coffee packs and bags cocktail nuts from a nursing home where she worked.
This has given the cantonal court in Dordrecht in the case brought by the woman against her former employer. The judge also sentenced her to pay a compensation of more than seventeen hundred euros to Gorkum caregiver.
Rivas Care Group had been struggling for several years with thefts in a department in one of the nursing homes.This caused great unrest among the residents because they too were victims of the thefts. Despite extra security rounds, interviews with staff and the commitment of the local policeman Rivas failed to halt the thefts.
It was then decided to turn Hoffmann, which in January of this year, three hidden cameras hung in the nursing home. Three days later, was seen on the images that the carer grabbed a pack of coffee from the storage room and stopped in her locker. After her service she took the coffee from her locker and left.
In an interview with the detectives would have admitted women not only from Rivas Care Group belongings stolen, but also from peers and clients. That was Rivas reason for dismissal. During the session, the woman denied the theft and they fought previously having made a confession.
During the session, the woman has admitted that she was seen in the images of the surveillance cameras. She admitted more often coffee and cocktail nuts have taken home.Was stolen in its absence, because she had taken earlier coffee and peanuts from home for work to supplement shortages in the stock at Rivas.
Rivas did also report the theft to the dismissed employee to the police. The Public Prosecutor has not yet decided whether the woman will be prosecuted.
