Prosecution calls for up to five years in prison for human trafficking

The Public Prosecutor (OM) demanded Tuesday the court in Zwolle imprisonment of eighteen months, three and five years against three men suspected of trafficking.

It is a 39-year-old Albanian from Amsterdam and a 38-year old Lithuanian and a 38-year-old Albanian without a permanent place of residence in the Netherlands.

The men were arrested in September 2013. They would certainly have recruited ten women from Lithuania, exploited, threatened (with death), abused and forced into prostitution. This happened in particular in Alkmaar, Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht.

The prosecution explained the 39-year-old suspect also forgery, fraud and money laundering charges. In addition to the prison sentences OM also demanded the withdrawal of sums between 100,000 euros and nearly 260,000 euros at the three.
