New treatments in basic package the monthly premium of DSW 9.25 euro 108.00 increases with with the standard excess of 385 euro per year. That is a lot more than the 3.50 euro increase that the Ministry of HEALTH, WELFARE and SPORT predicted in the budget.
Chris Oomen, Director of DSW, said before RTL news that this is too optimistic, because the basic insurance is again expanded with new treatments, and there a lot of expensive medications are provided. The health insurers used their reserves in recent years to keep the premium low, but the bottom has been reached. The reserves must not be too low by the Dutch Central Bank.
