MAASSLUIS - The "new" Santa Claus - with dark skin - is Saturday stopped by the police upon his arrival in Maassluis.
He may not show in the area where the arrival of Sinterklaas is celebrated.
According to police, he should not be there according to the rules. "The area around the port where Saint arrives counts as event venue where only children with their companions are welcome."
Patrick Mathurin who self-proclaimed new Saint, came to Maassluis with a bunch of red and white roses. "I come for a celebration of love and friendship, where everyone is happy. We can work it out, "he said before he was stopped.
